Fiberglass mesh

E-glass or C-glass fiberglass mesh is a product primarily characterized by its resistance to alkaline environments due to its SBR coating. It is used as reinforcement for strengthening and insulation systems. Using a LENO-type fabric, the fiberglass mesh confers resistance to the wall rendering and a lifetime equal to that of the plasters it reinforces.

Product features

  • Composite structure with regular networks
  • Reduces water loss from concrete
  • Integrates the surface
  • Chemical, thermal and electrical resistance
  • Tensile and compressive strength
  • Light weight

WHY GLASS FIBER

Using fibreglass (glass fibre reinforced composites) is highly popular across various industries for several technical and economic reasons. The main advantages can be summarized as follows:

1. High Strength-to-Weight Ratio
Despite being very lightweight, fibreglass possesses exceptional mechanical strength. This allows components made from it to be significantly lighter than similar metal or concrete parts, without sacrificing durability.

2. Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Unlike metals, which suffer from rust or oxidation, fibreglass is completely resistant to moisture, chemicals, acids, and harsh weather conditions. This makes it the ideal choice for marine industries (boat hulls) or chemical processing equipment.

3. Design Flexibility and Moldability
In its liquid resin state, fibreglass can take the shape of almost any mold. This allows designers to produce parts with complex, aerodynamic, and seamless shapes that would be difficult or impossible to create with metals, which often require welding or heavy pressing.

4. Durability and Long Lifespan
Fibreglass components do not suffer from material fatigue over time and are highly stable against impact and temperature fluctuations. Consequently, long-term maintenance and repair costs are significantly lower than with other materials.

5. Insulation Properties (Thermal and Electrical)
Fibreglass is inherently an excellent electrical insulator and has low thermal conductivity. For this reason, it is widely used in the manufacturing of electrical enclosures, household appliance casings, and industrial insulation.

6. Cost-Effectiveness
While the price of raw fibreglass materials may differ from certain metals, the overall project cost is often reduced due to high production speeds, lower transportation costs (due to its light weight), and the lack of need for constant protective painting (since it is rust-proof).
